of the Hardy Plant Society

Welcome

Welcome to the website of the Hardy Plant Society, Middlesex Group, one of the local groups of the national Hardy Plant Society.  We are a friendly group - both of experienced gardeners and enthusiastic newcomers - but we all share an interest in hardy, herbaceous, perennials and enjoy discovering more about how to grow and display these beautiful and varied plants in our gardens.

We meet regularly, usually on the first Monday of every month at Field End Junior School, Field End Road, Eastcote. We have a varied Programme of Speakers, as well as plants for sale at our meetings. We also visit gardens, shows, and other places of horticultural interest and we organise three Public Plant Sales each year. You can find out more on the Trips and Plant Sales page.

New members are always assured of a warm welcome, so why not come along and join us?

jute bagHPS Middlesex is pleased to offer environmentally friendly Jute Bags for sale at only £4. These sturdy bags have good carrying handles and measure 30cm by 29cm by 20cm. They are an ideal size, not only for carrying your plants and garden equipment, but also your shopping and many other items.

You can purchase a bag at any of our evening meetings.

seed collectionHPS Middlesex Group runs a seed donation scheme whereby a wide variety of donated seed is available for sale at evening meetings at only 30p per packet. It's a great opportunity to try new varieties at a very reasonable price.

To be able to run the scheme we need our members to donate any spare seed they have and  to look out for seeds in thier garden that thye can collect throughout the year. These (cleaned of other material and labelled) should be given to Judy Rogers or Diana Dolman at any meeting who will put them in small envelopes ready for sale.

As well as seeds, we also have a selection of greetings cards for sale. All proceeds from the sale of seeds and cards and our monthly raffle go directly back to the Group to help to meet the costs of the speakers and the hire of Field End School so please do support us.

The National Hardy Plant Society also runs a Seed Distribution Scheme. You can find more information about it here.

Thank you for joining Hardy Plant Society Middlesex Group. You will receive your membership card in the post shortly.
